William Gibson once said, “The future is already here, it’s just not very evenly distributed”. You know he is not wrong! The future is here, it’s just we are not seeing it clearly. In fact, we are in the early stages of full electric-powered motorcycles & bikes, cars, and electric scooters. But, day-by-day, we are getting close to the problems ranging from pollution to traffic. The result, the vehicle owners who once taking their personal freedom by traveling on their own schedules are now compromising their freedom by commuting in small groups. But, even then we can’t necessarily depend on the same vehicle. Plus, the cities are getting more crowded than ever and eliminating private transport is difficult to imagine.
So, the question is raised, what is the future of personal transport?
Well, one thing is clear. The private ownership and personal transport will be going to stay here forever. It is because there are some regions and class of people who can’t just abandon the personal transport. Currently, looking at our non-renewable energy resources like oil which put direct influence on economy’s growth of a country forced big automobile companies to work on the solar and electric segment. Even still, some believe that motorcycles haven’t any much room to grow. On the contrary, there are a lot of things which can be improved on the individual level.
Many big companies like Bosch and Harley are trying to reduce the number of fatal injuries happens in motorcycle accidents. Through technology, companies are trying to reduce the everyday motorcycle accidents where people are dying every day.
What Changes Can We Expect In Future Motorcycles?
Stating the obvious but motorcycle riders are more vulnerable to accidents than drivers and a motorcycle rider is more exposed to accidents.
Well, of course! There are so many ways to get injured during a motorcycle ride. For example, many rookie motorcyclists tend to use brake while cornering the motorcycle.
A piece of advice, “Try not to use brakes in a corner otherwise you will be a victim of a low-side crash”.
So, to minimize this human error, an advanced monitoring system unit, motorcyclists can calculate the lean angle, position, and speed. So, if you hit the brakes, you will be able to maintain traction.
The second bothering activity is of using smartphones while riding. I am gonna be honest, this is one risky activity which you shouldn’t do, not even on the plain road with no traffic. So, in order to keep our smartphones in our pockets, a futuristic integrated connectivity app has been designed which can sync apps on motorcycle’s screen. On top of that, you can easily control it with your fingers without removing your hand from the handlebar.
At least, then many riders will be able to keep their eyes on the road.
And best for the last. In fact, this last one is the most important after seeing our current non-renewable energy resources. We can presume that motorcycles and bikes will improve with time, in context of fuel efficiency. The futuristic modern motorcycles need to grow with time – and that means getting efficiency to reduce consumption. In order to do that companies need to work on adjusting the fuel injection system to reduce emissions. Although, it seems like a simple idea any small modification in the engine management has to come under legal standards. But, unfortunately, our currency technologies are not advanced enough to execute fully advanced engines in creating efficient and easy-to-charge bikes and scooters, not yet.
Final Thoughts: –
With big companies working out on the future of two-wheeled vehicles, the motto is clear – save something, whether it is a motorcycle, car, scooter, or planet. But, one thing is clear, in order to achieve green energy success, one has to push the limits of physics and create techs which can save lives.
Hope, we achieve it very soon.
