Feeling the wind on the face is one of the greatest enjoyments for a motorcyclist. But, that doesn’t mean to enjoy the wind to face we would avoid wearing a motorcycle helmet. It has seen that many motorcycle riders who often ride a cruiser motorcycle tend to be careless when it comes to wearing a motorcycle helmet or other riding gear. To them, a full face helmet is something that stops them to feel the wind to the face.
As for whether or not to wear a helmet, some states have a law to wear the helmet. So, what they do? – They put on a lid to the head and get a pass away from cops. Unless you have a death wish you don’t wanna toss your life like that.
A motorcycle is not just about riding but balance as well. If you don’t get what I’m talking about then it is about the fine line between having fun and safety. So, if you don’t wanna wear a full-face helmet then not an issue. You can try wearing an open-face helmet. As the name implies, the open-face helmet is a motorcycle helmet that encloses your top-head area just like any full-face helmet but leaves your face and cheek in exposed.
An open-face helmet is a lot better option than not wearing a motorcycle helmet. I don’t preach you to wear an open-face helmet, full-face or any other sort of helmet. The decision is all yours.
Only thing I would do is to recommend you to buy an open-face motorcycle helmet if you don’t have any and wear one because it is better to have some protection than having nothing.

Bell Custom 500 Open Face Helmet Review
Bell is a division of Vista Outdoor – an American maker of motorcycle helmets and bicycle. The company founded in the year 1923 however the first helmet it introduced was made in 1954 by Roy Richter who reversed engineered numerous helmets with the help of veteran naval pilot Frank Heacox. After months of research and hard work, they finally made the Bell 500 helmet. After its launch, the helmet becomes the instant success in the world of motorsports.
Back then the helmet featured a polyurethane foam liner insider a hand-laminated fibreglass outer shell. The helmet was already perfect in the eyes of motorcyclists. Just when we thought that it couldn’t get any better, Bell went straight to the lab and did some improvements which lead them to made Bell Custom 500 open face motorcycle helmet.
Bell Custom 500 retains the old retro-look while built on modern technology, while also ensuring that today’s riders are provided with the same retro-look and latest safety features. The helmet comes in an intermediate oval shape with 5 shell & EPS liner sizes, ensures a low-profile look.
Shell 01: Extra-Small & Small-Medium Helmet
Shell 02: Medium Helmet
Shell 03: Large Helmet
Shell 04: Extra-Large Helmet
Shell 05: Double Extra-Large Helmet
To the company, it was already very hard to improve an open-face helmet that not only left a small room to upgrade but also already on top of the list of best open-face motorcycle helmets. But, the Bell showed that if they dedicate themselves into something, they will do it.
Bell Custom 500 has a new head for which now fits better and look smaller on the head. You know that what means, no more bubbleheads!
Apart from this, the Bell Custom 500 has an integrated 5-snap pattern for aftermarket shields and visors.
Usually, the open-face helmets offer very less impact and abrasion protection but with the Bell Custom 500, you will not feel the same way. The helmet is equipped with the Multi-Density EPS liner that is a matrix of multi-layers that will absorb any impact during the crash and distribute it properly to ensuring you won’t feel much of pressure to your head.
Apart from this, it comes in various prints with the standard 5-year warranty. The helmet stands in almost everything in the category of open-face helmets but it runs slightly small. So, if you are between sizes, I would recommend you to choose the large size.
HJC IS-33 2 Open Face Helmet Review
HJC IS-33 II is not like other ordinary open-face helmets available in the market. It is an open-face helmet that offers the almost same level of protection as any full-face helmet, a peak visor to go against strong winds, and a sun visor in order to protect you against the harmful UV rays.
In fact, it is much more than that. HJC is one of the top motorcycle helmet brands that ensure the safety and comfort of the rider and made it an utmost priority while designing a motorcycle helmet.
Generally, the motorcycle riders use open-face helmets for cruising around because it offers better comfort than the modular or full-face helmet. So, to enjoy the ride with great comfort they actually compromise their safety.
That’s what happening so far!
But, with the HJC IS-33 II open face helmet you won’t need to compromise the safety with comfort.
Shell Design & Protection Level:
HJC IS-33 II motorcycle helmet is constructed from the advanced polycarbonate composite shell which is designed using the advanced CAD technology. This advanced shell is the composition of various compounds and a single density EPS liner that absorbs heavy impacts and distributes throughout the liner to ensure the rider won’t face any heavy injury to his/her head.
You may say, “What… a single density EPS liner?” – But, trust me. A single density EPS liner is a lot better than having no EPS liner for impact-absorption.
The HJC IS-33 II helmet has gone through the rigorous safety test of DOT and come out outstandingly.
So, yes! Your open-face helmet is DOT approved.
The HJC IS-33 II comes in two different shell sizes and EPS sizes in an intermediate oval shape that fits most of the head shapes.
The ventilation system that HJC IS-33 II is equipped with is the advanced channelling ventilation system (AC-S) which by the way is the top-of-the-line ventilation system of HJC which available in its almost all premium motorcycle helmets.
This is why the helmet succeeds to offer great ventilation to the top head of the area. The top vent is a multi-stage intake vent that allows cool air to pass through the EPS liner of the helmet to the rider’s top head area and flushes out the existing heat and humidity out of the helmet through the exhaust ports at the rear of the helmet.
In doing so, it offers a full front-to-back airflow system to offer optimal airflow to the rider’s top head area so that the rider can be comfortable for longer rides.
Face Shield & Visor:
The HJC IS-33 II motorcycle helmet does come with a face shield that can work against the cooler temperatures and strong winds. For warmer weather, you can swap out the shield for an integrated peak visor for more airflow.
Swapping the shield won’t harm you because you will have an internal sun shield visor or you can say a peak visor that won’t compromise your visibility. On the contrary, its aerodynamic shell with large eye port enhances the visibility of the rider.
The smoke-tinted inner sunshield can deploy and retracts on one-touch and can adjust up to 3 different positions. Furthermore, the HJC IS-33 II has HJC’s HJ-17R Shield QuickSlide shield replacement system that allows quick removal and installation of a shield with no additional tools.
HJC IS-33 II motorcycle helmet incorporates an advanced SuperCool antibacterial fabric capable of dissipating moisture, humidity, and sweat completely and keeps the inner part of helmet odour free.
If you wear glasses then you can benefit from the HJC IS-33 II grooved interior in the temple area which is comfortable, removable, and washable.
Shoei J-Cruise Open Face Motorcycle Helmet Review
Shoei J-Cruise is the Cadillac in the industry of helmets. It is a premium motorcycle helmet with open-face construction for touring comfort with the ultimate protection to your head. It is an outstanding example of the open-face helmet which possesses the luxury, comfort, and safety which you won’t see in other open-face helmets.
To be brutally honest, it is my favourite open-face motorcycle helmet that I would choose over any open-face helmet anytime.
The one thing I particularly like about Shoei J-Cruise helmet is its protection level that beats your average full-face motorcycle helmets. Yeah! I agree the helmet has no chin bar to protect your front but it is equipped with the same technology that Shoei has already used in its top-of-the-line full-face and modular motorcycle helmets.
Let’s see what’s so special about Shoei J-Cruise motorcycle helmet.
Shell Design & Protection Level:
It has been found out that touring riders choose open-face helmets over full-face helmets and modular helmets because they are more comfortable, lightweight, and provide optimal airflow in summer weather.
While talking to some rider, I realized that they give more priority to comfort rather than safety when it comes to long touring rides. I understand, the cruiser riders don’t need the same level of protection as Moto GP riders needed but they still need protection.
And that’s here comes Shoei J-Cruise in the picture. Shoei J-Cruise is like any other Shoei full face motorcycle helmet just without a chin bar. It is because it uses the same advanced integrated matric shell (AIM) which is a multi-ply matrix shell technology widely recognized for its lightness and strong build construction. It incorporates a multi-piece EPS liner which is a composition of multiple densities of the layer that can absorb heavy impacts during a crash.
The helmet has the intermediate oval shape and comes in 4 different shell sizes. Also, your average open-face helmets are not in any compliance however the Shoei J-Cruise is DOT approved. That means it has gone through the rigorous testing to come out as the trusty helmet that can actually protect you during your ride.
Aerodynamics & Noise Levels:
If we talk about the aerodynamics then the Shoei J-Cruise is aerodynamically tested. It means, during at high speeds you won’t get to face the issues like drag and lift.
Many times, it has seen that open-face helmets tend to create more noise because of no chin-bar and short faces shield. However, that’s not in the case of Shoei J-Cruise helmet. Because it has a long face-shield that covers most of your face and block straight headwinds.
Furthermore, it facilitates a shield stopper feature that prevents the unexpected opening of the shield at high-speeds.
Face Shield & Visor:
Well, I know that open-face helmets provide much wider vision than the full-face and modular motorcycle helmets. But, until now I didn’t know that Shoei had used the most unique face shield system in its J-Cruise helmet. It is interpreted as a CJ-2 face shield system which is a 10 mm longer that than the CJ-1. It is a three-dimensional curved screen that offers a much wider and taller field of vision.
So, if you’re looking for enhanced peripheral vision and optical clarity then Shoei J-Cruise would be perfect for you.
It has a scratch-resistant coating that also happens to block 99 per cent of UV-A & B rays.
The helmet has an internal sun shield visor built-in QSV-1 sun shield recognized for giving instant relief from the sun glare in one easy step.
That sun visor meets the ANSI Z80.3-2010 standard for non-prescription sunglasses.
The Shoei J-Cruise has one large switch to activate the 3D injection-moulded inner sun shield.
The ventilation system in Shoei J-Cruise is same as the ventilation system of Shoei GT-Air. The front vents allow cool air to pass through the two holes to the EPS liner for smooth passage of air to the rider’s head and 2 rear exhaust and 1 neck exhaust vent to remove the hot air out of the helmet for optimal airflow.
In short, the ventilation system is remarkable.
Apart from this, the helmet’s cheek pads have a five-layer construction for better comfort of the rider. The 3D Max-Dry technology is equipped with absorbs and dissipates the moisture and sweat two times faster than any ordinary fabric.
On top of that, it is completely removable, washable, and interchangeable.
LS2 OF569 Track Helmet Review
‘Helmet amenities’ is quite a new thing to many riders who are daily commuters but not the enthusiasts like the rest of us. To them, a simple DOT-compliant helmet is sufficient to think that they are safe. But, the characteristics and comfort matter as much as safety. This is why people like us exist so that we can help you get what you need.
If you trouble to find an open-face helmet that allows you to block the sun glare, opposite wind and enjoy the ride at the same time then the next helmet in our list of open face helmets will allow you to do all mentioned above.
The helmet I’m talking about is none other but the OF569 track open face helmet crafted and come to life by LS2 itself. LS2 is quite an appealing helmet which is equipped with the HPTT (High-Pressure Thermoplastic Technology) which incorporates a strong tough shell to protect you from impacts while at the same time providing lightness to ride without any heaviness of the helmet. The HTTP is an aerodynamic shell constructed to provide stability at high speeds.
However, it does come only in 1 shell size which is kinda drawback.
Nobody likes to ride when it is hot outside but as you know us ‘motorcycle enthusiasts’ we just don’t care! But, it doesn’t mean we won’t take care of ourselves. We needed a helmet that without compromising the enjoyment of the ride, offers the defence against straight opposite wind and UV rays.
To ensure such amenities, the LS2 incorporates an optically correct face-shield in the OF569 motorcycle open-face helmet with this face-shield will allow you to block the opposite wind and direct UV rays coming out of the sun. Like I said, the shield is 3D optically correct which also happens to be fog-resistant with a quick-release system. The OF569 also include the LS2’s Twin Shield System Drop-Down Sun Shield. This quick-release system will allow you to remove and install the face-shield without any use of the tool within seconds.
Since the open-face helmets have no chin-bar so you will have a sufficient amount of cool air anyway. Besides, the helmet facilitates channelled ports for the ventilation system. The top vents in the front allow the cool air to pass through the liner of the helmet to the rider’s top head area and the exhaust port in the back throw the hot air out of the helmet to maintain the optimal air inflow and outflow in the helmet.
Apart from this, the LS2 OF569 has laser-cut foam cheek-pads with a washable and removable plush comfort liner made of breathable fabric superior to other ordinary fabric.
The helmet is ECE certified and definitely a good-to-go feature for an open-face helmet.
Biltwell Bonanza Open Face Helmet Review
Biltwell Bonanza is a stunning cool open face helmet that comes in a wide range of tough-looking paint finishes, combine the classic style and modern technology in one. The Biltwell Bonanza is the definition of unmatched style and comfort that you hardly see elsewhere.
The Biltwell designed the Bonanza open face helmet and integrated an expanded polystyrene inner shell as the first line of defence between your head and road. This polystyrene inner shell does the trick in protecting your head and neck in a motorcycle crash.
The helmet meets the DOT-safety standards and comes at a reasonable price. In fact, if you buy this helmet to gift your companion, wife, or friend because ultimately, you are making the right choice in picking the Biltwell Bonanza motorcycle helmet.
The Bonanza helmet has designed in a way that it fits everyone’s individual head and style. You won’t feel any heaviness while wearing this helmet. It is leaner, lighter, and even stronger than you could possibly imagine.
The Biltwell Bonanza’s inner boasts a custom-shaped EPS safety shell however the shell has no air intake vents like full-face and modular motorcycle helmets. So, you may not get much airflow at the top area of your head as much as you can get at your face.
If we talk about the cheek pads then the Biltwell has done some serious work here. The Biltwell Bonanza facilitates Lycra panels for dissipating sweat and moisture. The liner quality may not feel premium but the liner is hand-stitched and has open-cell foam padding for additional breathability and comfort. This foam padding is diamond-stitched quilted foam padding.
Biltwell Bonanza looks no different than a vintage motorcycle helmet which is comfortable and fairly light to use.
Shark Street Drak Open Face Helmet Review (formerly known as Shark Raw)
If you fantasize about flying a fighter jet then you can live up your dream even while riding your motorcycle in the streets. The Shark Street Drak helmet can help you fulfil your fantasy. The Shark Street Drak is a quite popular aviation-styled open-face helmet with the distinct style and design that made it completely different from other open-face motorcycle helmets.
Formerly known as Shark RAW, Drak is an open face helmet which first introduced in the year 2013. Since then the helmet made quite a reputation in the helmet industry.
One thing I loved about the Shark is that they never stop experimenting with things. Same they did with this ¾ motorcycle helmet. The Shark Street Drak is an open-face helmet but comes with off-road styled goggles and a face mask instead of a visor.
Let’s have a close look on this helmet and find what sort of features it is offering:
Shell Design & Protection Level:
Shark Drak is a lightweight round-oval shaped helmet which weighs near around 2.61 pounds only. Also, it is available in two different shell sizes which fit most of the head sizes. When you wear the helmet you will realize that the helmet looks so compact that it won’t look too big on your head. The helmet is constructed from an injected thermoplastic resin which is capable of providing protection to your head in case of a crash however the protection level will not be as advanced as you see in full-face and modular motorcycle helmets.
But, if you are stick to riding in streets not off-road terrains or tracks then the helmet will make sure you won’t get some serious injury to your head by absorbing heavy impacts.
Goggles & Face Mask:
First, we will talk about the goggles. As we know that Shark designed this as an aviation-styled motorcycle helmet so goggles were given.
So, the question is how these goggles will benefit us?
Well, according to the company the goggles are double-glazed and provide protection against scratching and fogging. The goggles lenses are by Cark Zeiss and provide a wide field of fog-free vision to the rider. Besides, the people who are using Shark Street Drak have no complaints regarding the goggles. On the contrary, they find it quite easy with the goggles to move their head and cheek as compared to full-face motorcycle helmets.
Now let’s go to the face mask. The face mask comes with the Shark Street Drak open-face helmet is detachable. You can wear it with or without goggles. So, you can unclip it in case you feel like to enjoy cool wind to your face.
Even if you wear both goggles and face mask at the same time then you can give yourself a good level of protection to your face. But, I would still warn you “Do not take it as granted protection like a full-face helmet.”
The purpose of this face mask is to give you some edge while riding on off-road terrains. The mask is for catching flies and road muck rather than giving protection in a crash. If the mild riding is what you do in the woods then Shark Street Drak would be nice to have. It can work as an alternative of dirt bike motorcycle helmet.
If we talk about the upper ventilation system in Shark Street Drak helmet then the forehead has air intake vents to allow cool air to pass through the liner of the helmet and channel all-round the head. It is a large forehead vent that’s stoppered with a removable rubber bung.
So, forehead vent is quite good and will allow cool air to pass through the liner of the helmet to your head. If you are looking to get as much as ventilation to your face then as you know it is an open face helmet so you also use it without goggles and mask.
Otherwise, you will be amazed to know that riders who used Shark Street Drak helmet were surprised to see more than average ventilation to the chin area even with the mask on. A decent amount of fresh air passes through the face mask to the rider’s face.
Overall, I can say that the helmet meets the Motorcyclist Lifestyle’s standard of ventilation and can offer optimal airflow to the rider while riding.
Interior & Comfort Level:
The interior padding of Shark Street Drak motorcycle helmet is made up of natural a fibre which has the characteristics like moisture-wicking and hypoallergenic. The cheek pads are completely washable and removable.
But, make sure to hand-wash them, the fabric here is textile and should be treated with utmost delicacy.
Daytona Cruiser Open-face Helmet Review
Daytona cruiser open face helmet is one of the lowest profile open-face motorcycle helmets to this date yet the helmet is fully lined up with a custom formed interior for extreme comfort to the rider’s cheek area. The interior is quite précised and offers sweat-dissipating functionality to absorb sweat and moisture from the face. The custom formed interior will allow you to stay cool and dry while cruising around.
You probably wondering, why we’ve listed the low profile helmet in the list of best open-face motorcycle helmets?
Daytona slim line cruiser ¾ shell helmet is the smallest DOT helmet ever made which both meets and exceeds the DOT FMVSS 218 standards. Furthermore, the helmet comes in three different shell sizes –
|Helmet Sizes||Head Circumference (in inches)||Head Circumference (in metric)||Hat Sizes|
|3XS||17 1/8” – 18”||43.5 – 45.7 cm||5 4/9 – 5 3/4|
|2XS||18 1/8” – 19”||46 – 48.3 cm||5 ¾ – 6|
|XS||19 1/8” – 20”||48.6 – 50.8 cm||6 – 6 3/8|
|S||20 1/8” – 20”||51.1 – 53.3 cm||6 2/5 – 6 2/3|
|M||21 1/8” – 22”||53.7 – 55.9 cm||6 5/7 – 7|
|L||22 1/8” – 23”||56.2 – 58.4 cm||7 – 7 1/3|
|XL||23 1/8” – 24”||58.7 – 60 cm||7 1/3 – 7 2/3|
|2XL||24 1/8” – 25”||61.3 – 63.5 cm||7 2/3 – 8|
|3XL||25 1/8” – 26”||63.8 – 66 cm||8 – 8 2/7|
|4XL||26 1/8” – 27”||66.4 – 68.6 cm||8 1/3 – 8 3/5|
After going through rigorous testing, the helmet comes out as one reliable open face helmet that stays snug in one place and has no issue of lifting even when at high-speed. Personally, if you ask me, it is remarkable to see such small helmet get no lifting issues otherwise, many open-face helmets are available in the market – more expensive yet failed to pass the helmet lift test.
But, that’s not the case with Daytona slim line cruiser motorcycle helmet.
The Slim Line design offers a sleek, contoured shell that won’t only eliminate the mushroom look but also offers protection to your helmet from impacts during a crash. However, the protection will not be at the same level as other full face motorcycle helmets. But, if you’re riding in the street or enjoying trip countryside then the helmet will be able to protect your head from the mild crash and falls.
The helmet comes with a removable, snap-on gloss black bubble visor with a quick release lock to easily detach the visor with one finger only.
I don’t think you can find any better option in open face helmets which not only provide protection and fits head so well that you don’t need to worry about the bobblehead effect.
Scorpion Covert Open-face Helmet Review
Shell Design & Protection Level:
The big factor for cruiser riders is that they don’t want to carry the heavyweights and also don’t wanna compromise in safety as well. Therefore, to make sure the rider won’t compromise in any department; the Scorpion designed a protective shell constructed from a proprietary advanced LG polycarbonate shell to offer high-end protection to the rider. The shell is protective yet lightweight that you won’t feel any burden of the helmet in any case.
The helmet incorporates a dual density EPS liner that absorbs the heavy impacts during a crash. The helmet is DOT approved can be used as full-face motorcycle helmet or open-face motorcycle helmet.
If it is the airflow you desire, then you can get plenty of it but at a greater cost. Scorpion Covert has an excellent ventilation system. This is also due to the fact that the helmet can be converted into three different configurations as per the riding condition.
However, as we said, earlier, the helmet may offer three different configurations but it is not still an open-face motorcycle helmet – neither full-face nor modular!
The helmet allows cool air to pass through the visor and face mask inside the helmet to keep you cool and dry while riding. At the same time, it channels the humidity and heats up to the ventilation ducts out the back so that you stay as cool as a cucumber. But, since it’s a face mask not chin bar of a modular helmet, so you may also get some noise due to the nature of the modular design.
But, don’t worry! The noise level won’t bother you. It is because the Scorpion chose the Aero-tuned ventilation system for Covert motorcycle helmet comprised two intake forehead vents to allow the cool air to channel the air through EPS liner to the rider’s head.
The lower vent is in the face mask that also offers some great ventilation. No doubt, the helmet can work in three seasons but you shouldn’t recommendable to wear in winter conditions.
Visor & Face Mask
The Scorpion incorporates a SpeedView internal tinted sun visor in the Covert motorcycle helmet along with a clear visor for night riding. The visor or shield the Covert helmet has comes with a sliding feature in order to offer clear visor when the visor is up.
As per the company, the SpeedView visor has EverClear coating on both sides of the visor with the characteristic of anti-fog. I think it is a great combination of aero-tuned ventilation and anti-fog coating in the visor. With this on, you will never have the issue of fogging.
Now let’s go to the face mask. The face mask is detachable and can be used as per the riding condition. Not only the face mask has a ventilation intake vent but also helpful in keeping the debris, gravel, dust, and bugs at bay.
The face mask can be easily attached and remove via the magnets. But, I would like to notify you that the helmet may be used as three different types of motorcycle helmets. But, when it comes to using it as a modular or full-face helmet, don’t count on it.
The Scorpion Covert is not a full-fledged full face or modular motorcycle helmet. When you feel like you need protection to your head then go buy a full face helmet.
Interior & Comfort Level
The Scorpion Covert comes with a Kwikwick 2 anti-microbial fabric liner which is a premium-line of interior liner. The liner has an anti-microbial property which dissipates sweat and humidity to keep the rider’s face cool and dry.
The cheek pad and crown liner are completely washable and removable. So, whenever you feel like to wash them you can remove and hand wash them.
Replacing and assembling the cheek pads are quite straight forward.
HJC IS-5 Open Face Helmet Review
IS-5 is not just another open-face helmet of HJC but the helmet that has been used for STARWARS official franchises.
Do you remember, Poe Dameron?
I’m sure you do. If you are a STARWARS fan then no doubt you must be familiar with Poe and the T-70. In fact, there is a huge fan following for that gutsy pilot who renewed for his great role in defending the Resistance from STARWARS franchise. If you see T-70 in your motorcycle and think of yourself as ‘Joe Dameron’ then the only thing you need to engage the TIE fighters is the HJC IS-5 Joe Dameron open face motorcycle helmet.
It is one of the officially licensed STARWARS motorcycle helmets. The helmet has also been used for X-Wing Fighter pilot helmet.
I think no other helmet can suit better for such great purpose. The HJC IS-5 is a combination of traditional style and modern technology. Until now the helmets used for MARVEL and STARWARS licensed franchises were mostly HJC’s full-face and modular motorcycle helmets such as Spider-man motorcycle helmet, Iron-man motorcycle helmet, and Venom motorcycle helmet among others.
So, when the HJC IS-5’s Joe Dameron and X-Wing fighter pilot released, many people think that it is just a novelty helmet for the nostalgia of STARWARS. But, truth is, the HJC IS-5 is much more than that.
The helmet has HJC’s lightweight polycarbonate composite shell made up of different materials. The shell is lightweight yet strong enough to protect your head from several head injuries while crashing.
Plus, you will be happy to know that your so-called ‘novelty helmet’ is DOT approved. That means, it has been through tough rigorous conditions and come out as a safety motorcycle helmet. The HJC IS-5 incorporates an HJ-V8 integrated sunshield to protect you from harmful UV-rays, dust, debris, and opposite winds, etc.
The helmet provides a wide field of vision to the rider in order to ensure that the rider is aware of surrounding motorcyclists, and other motor vehicles.
The HJC did a good job in equipping IS-5 with SuperCool moisture-wicking anti-bacterial fabric that is the top-of-the-line interior fabric used by HJC in premium motorcycle helmets. The fabric is capable of dissipating sweat and moisture of the helmet multiple times faster than ordinary fabric. The cheek pads and liner are fully-removable. So, you can remove and wash them whenever you needed.
Above all, the graphics are fantastic. In short, HJC IS-5 is the helmet that you were looking for – fulfilling your STARWARS fantasy without compromising in protection. So, I would recommend you HJC IS-5 Joe Dameron to you if you’re looking for an open-face motorcycle helmet with sort of killing looks.
May the force be with you!

It is the helmet that designed especially for cruiser riders who want to feel the air to their face without compromising the protection. The shell is fibreglass – that means it will be very light and yet strong enough to provide protection to your head. The fibreglass is recognized for absorbing the impacts to minimize the head injury.
The helmet’s shell is tough – trust me! In fact, the helmet is DOT approved. It has gone through rigorous conditions to ensure a secure comfortable shell that not only safe but comfortable enough to wear on long rides.
On top of that, the helmet has a round oval shape and comes in three different shell sizes.
Apart from this, the helmet comes with a drop-down sun visor which is retractable and interchangeable SunView visor that will block harmful UV rays.
Scorpion equipped Belfast helmet with Kwikfit cheek pads and plush hand-stitched liner which dissipates sweat and moisture faster than traditional fabric. Not only it will let you keep and dry but also allow easy on and off your eyeglasses and eliminate temple pressure found on most helmets.
So, I think you should definitely check out this helmet if you like cool retro-style and looking for modern amenities. I’m sure the help will not let you down. In fact, you will hardly see such reliable open-face helmets at this price range.
Benefits of Wearing Open-Face Motorcycle Helmet
There are several benefits of wearing open-face motorcycle helmets which are explained as follow:
For start, wearing an open-face helmet is so much cooler. Plus, the helmet offers optimal ventilation which is on par with full-face and other motorcycle helmets. The open face helmet has no chin bar which allows the optimal flow of air to the face area. However, it could be a drawback if you are riding on track or off-terrain. But, as long as we are on ventilation, it offers high airflow that unlikely full-face helmets recognized for.
Daily commuters get the great benefit of wearing an open-face motorcycle helmet since it offers more clarity and a wide field of vision than full-face and modular motorcycle helmets. Whether you are wearing a helmet with or without visor, it doesn’t matter. The helmets provide an obstacle-free field of vision.
Open-face motorcycle helmets are much lighter than the full-face motorcycle helmets and therefore less fatiguing than heavy-full face helmets. Thanks to the helmet manufacturers, who constructed shells that are not only lighter but also stronger in nature. Many helmet manufacturers are now using the same shell that they use in full-face helmets which enhance the protection level of open-face helmets.
Hope, this article helped you in finding the right open-face helmet for you. If you have any query or would like to learn more about open-face helmets then don’t forget to mention in the comment section below. We would be happy to assist you in every way possible!
